On June 18, 2025, Ocean University of China organized and held the on-site phased acceptance meeting for the Shandong Provincial Key R&D Program (Major Scientific and Technological Innovation Project) titled "Development and Application of Key Technologies for the Breeding of Superior Germplasm and Large-Scale Seedling Cultivation of Important Farmed Fish in Facilities" at Qingdao Qicai Seed Industry Technology Co., Ltd., located in Hetoudian Town, Laixi City, Qingdao.

The project acceptance team consists of Researcher Sun Jianming (leader) from the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Researcher Liu Hongjun from the Shandong Academy of Marine Sciences, and Researcher Chen Siqing from the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences. The acceptance team listened to the work report of the project team, inspected the production records and aquaculture site, and verified the key indicators on site.

The main acceptance results are as follows:

(1) Murray cod：

In 2025, relying on the independently established artificial breeding technology system, the project team successfully bred over 5.3 million Murray cod seedlings. It also developed one strain of Murray cod suitable for high-density industrial recirculating water aquaculture.
