On June 11th, a delegation led by Japanese aquatic experts Kenzo Nakamura and Yoshinao Okachi visited Qingdao Qicai Seed Industry Technology Co., Ltd., with Mr. Lin Hongsheng, an aquatic entrepreneur from Taiwan, China, accompanying the exchange throughout the entire process.
Kenzo Nakamura and his delegation visited Qicai Seed Industry's Murray cod breeding base and the "Super Fish Bowl" aquaculture system, expressing appreciation for the company’s progress in land-based recirculating aquaculture technology, broodstock selection and artificial breeding. The three parties conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as Murray cod breeding and rearing technology, as well as international market development.

Murray cod is native to Australia. It was first introduced to Taiwan, China in 1999 and to mainland China in 2001. The founding team of Qicai Seed Industry introduced Murray cod fry in 2011, committing to industrialized Murray cod farming using the land-based recirculating aquaculture model. In 2019, the team made a breakthrough in the large-scale fully artificial breeding technology of Murray cod. This technology was evaluated through the standardized assessment of scientific and technological achievements and recognized as reaching an internationally advanced level.
