International Exchange Fuels Innovation, Forging a New Chapter for the Aquatic Seed Industry —— Expert Delegates from James Cook University and Ocean University of China Visit Qingdao Qicai Technology Co., Ltd. for Exchange
On April 16, 2026, Prof. Dean Jerry, Dean of the Tropical Futures Institute at James Cook University, A/Prof. Shen Xueyan, together with A/Prof. Li Huiru from the College of Fisheries, Ocean University of China, paid an inspection and exchange visit to our company. Professor Gong Qingli, Chairman of Qingdao Qicai Technology Co., Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as Qicai Tech), accompanied and received the delegation throughout the whole process.

The expert group visited the breeding demonstration workshops and core areas of the seed production workshops in depth, and conducted detailed exchanges focusing on key technologies including land-based high-density recirculating aquaculture and artificial propagation of Murray cod.
In the breeding demonstration workshops, the expert group inspected core segments of the recirculating aquaculture system, including water quality regulation, stocking density control and feeding management, and examined the biochemical treatment modules for recycled water.

In the seed production workshops, Chairman Gong Qingli introduced the company’s technological innovations in Murray cod artificial insemination, hatching environment regulation and larval first-feed cultivation. Through precise control of water temperature, dissolved oxygen, light and other parameters, the hatching rate of Murray cod has reached over 85%, greatly outperforming the industry average.
During the visit, the two sides had in-depth discussions on international cooperation and technological innovation in the aquatic seed industry. They focused on exploring cooperation directions such as genome-wide selective breeding of Murray cod, as well as the introduction and localized breeding of high-quality new Australian aquaculture species, and exchanged in-depth ideas on industry-university-research collaboration and joint technological R&D.

This on-site visit and exchange by the international expert team has not only built a direct bridge for Sino-foreign aquatic technological exchanges, but also helped foreign experts fully recognize the innovative strength of China’s aquatic seed industry. In-depth discussions on core technologies have laid a solid foundation for subsequent international technical collaboration and joint research breakthroughs in terms of technology optimization, experience sharing and long-term cooperation.

In the future, Qicai Tech will continue to devote itself to tackling core technologies in the aquatic seed industry. Taking international cooperation as a link, the company will absorb cutting-edge global concepts and technologies, and inject strong impetus into the revitalization of China’s aquatic seed industry and the construction of a maritime power.
