On December 27, 2023, the Third Council Of the First Session Of the Aquaculture Seed Industry Branch of China Aquatic Products Circulation and Processing Association was successfully held in Qingdao, Shandong Province. The meeting was presided over by Gong Qingli, professor of Ocean University of China, secretary-general of the Aquaculture Seed Industry Branch of China Aquatic Products Circulation and Processing Association, and chairman of Qingdao Qicai Seed Technology Co., Ltd.

Bao Zhenmin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, dean of the College of Marine Life of Ocean University of China and president of the Aquaculture Seed Industry Branch, mentioned in his speech that the green development of aquaculture requires the construction, intensification and ecology, and the industry is facing transformation and upgrading, which needs the support of improved varieties. Although he stepped down as president of the branch, he is still a veteran of the aquaculture seed industry, and will continue to pay attention to the development process of China's aquaculture seed industry and contribute his own strength. At the meeting, the motion to change the first council president and vice president of the Aquaculture Seed Industry Branch of the China Aquatic Products Circulation and Processing Association was reviewed and approved. The participants agreed that Kong Jie, former deputy director of the Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, would serve as the president of the branch.
