In October 2023, Intertek Group implemented BAP standard audit on Qingdao Qicai Seed Co., Ltd. After professional on-site audit and technical assessment, Qicai the first murray cod farm in the world to pass BAP certification, and obtained the BAP(Best Aquaculture Practice) certificate issued by GSA (Global Aquaculture Alliance). This means that Qicai in food safety, environmental protection, social responsibility, animal health and welfare, traceability five modules have reached the international advanced level.

Established in March 2017, Qingdao Qicai Seed Technology Co., Ltd. is an innovative high-tech enterprise founded by a scientific research team from Ocean University of China. Qicai operates the entire industry chain of land-based recirculating aquaculture system fisheries, including research and development, breeding, processing, sales, and services.

  Currently, Qicai has more than 7,000 parental fish of murray cod aged 8-12 years, rendering it the largest enterprise in the world in terms of the storage of murray cod broodstock. In 2021, Qicai passed the provincial-level qualification acceptance as the "Qingdao Murray Cod Breeding Farm". In 2022, the “Murray Cod Large-scale Fully Artificial Breeding Technology and Industrial High-density Circulating Water Culture Technology” broke through by Qicai research team was recognized as internationally leading. In 2022, Qicai passed the registration of "Outbound Aquatic Animal Farm and Transfer Farm", and is the only enterprise in Qingdao with this qualification. In 2023, the murray cod cultured by Qicai was selected into the list of "National Famous and Excellent New Agricultural products".
