History review: The "Large-scale artificial breeding technology of Murraycod" hosted by the scientific research team of Ocean University of China passed the site acceptance

On June 23, 2019, Ocean University of China organized relevant experts to conduct on-site acceptance of the "large-scale artificial breeding technology of Murdock" jointly developed by Ocean University of China, Qingdao Qihao Biotechnology Co., LTD., Qingdao Qicai Seed Technology Co., LTD., and Jiangsu Vocational College of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Technology in Laixi Qingdao Qihao Biotechnology Co., LTD. Zhao Fazhen, academician of Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, is the group leader. The host of the project, Professor Gong Qingli from the College of Fisheries of Ocean University of China presided over the on-site acceptance meeting.
At the meeting, Professor Gong Qingli gave a special report on "total artificial breeding technology of Murray cod", and introduced in detail the current situation of breeding and breeding of Murray cod, the significance of total artificial breeding of Murray cod, and the existing problems. Professor Gong Qingli pointed out that the large-scale artificial breeding technology of Murray cod broke through the whole set of artificial breeding technology of Murray cod, including the identification of male and female of the parent fish, intensive breeding of the parent fish, young and young fish culture, fry feeding and other stages. Under the premise of having a large number of parent fish of reproductive age, this technology has laid a solid foundation for the artificial large-scale breeding of cod and rapid industrialization of cod.
The members of the expert group carefully listened to the report of the project team, inspected the breeding site, carried out spot sampling on the Murray cod and fry, measured the body length, observed the health status of the fry, and made quantitative statistics. Through the acceptance, the expert group unanimously agreed that this technology in the world for the first time to achieve more than 500,000 Murraycod seedlings artificial breeding scale.

Academician Zhao Fazhen spoke highly of the large-scale and artificial breeding technology of Murraycod. He pointed out that the project has lasted nearly ten years, from the introduction of Murraycod in Australia to the current large-scale and artificial breeding. The scientific research team of Professor Gong Qingli from Ocean University of China has overcome the difficulties and achieved the technical breakthrough of the whole process of large-scale and artificial breeding of Murraycod, and the project planning goal has been successfully completed.
Gao Yong from National Fisheries Technology Extension Station, Chen Siqing from Yellow Sea Fisheries Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, Zhang Zhiyong from Jiangsu Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Liu Hongjun from Shandong Institute of Marine Biology participated in the site acceptance as members of the expert group.
It is reported that Ocean University of China research team has been introducing farmed Murray cod from Australia since 2011. With the support of the Ministry of Agriculture's "Program for the Introduction of International Advanced Agricultural Science and Technology" (" 948 "program) and other programs, the scientific research team of Gong Qingli, a professor of Ocean University of China, Scientific and technological breakthroughs have been carried out in industrial aquaculture of cod circulating water. Several key technologies have been researched and developed, including aquaculture system design, water quality monitoring, development of special feed for cod in circulating water, automatic feeding, disease monitoring and control, oxygen efficient dissolution, UV-ozone joint disinfection, carbon dioxide removal and high-density aquaculture. The system technology construction for industrial high density aquaculture of the circulating water of Murray cod has been completed, and the density of aquaculture has reached 150-200 kg/m³ water body, which is the international leading and the highest level in China.
