Norwegian salmon exports to China rose sharply in the first half of the year

From January to June this year, China imported 23,500 tons of salmon from Norway, with a value of 2.91 billion Norwegian krone (about 1.97 billion yuan), up 67% and 95% respectively from the same period last year, according to data released by the Norwegian Seafood Board on the 5th.


In addition to salmon, Norway also exports a large number of cod, trout, mackerel and other seafood to China. In the first half of this year, Norway exported a total of 69,700 tons of various types of seafood to China, with a value of 4.312 billion Norwegian kroner (about 2.92 billion yuan).


The Norwegian Seafood Board said that the Asian region represented by China is an important market for the country's seafood exports, and Norway will increase its seafood promotion efforts to attract more Asian consumers.


Data show that in the first half of this year, Norway exported 1.31 million tons of seafood worldwide, down 5% from the same period last year; The value of the goods was 82.3 billion Norwegian krone (about 55.8 billion yuan), an increase of 18% year-on-year.
